Jerry J. Palmer

Jerry J. Palmer, 79, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Saturday morning, September 19, 2020 at his home.

Jerry was born on May 12, 1941 in Arkansas City, KS, the son of James A. “Bob” and Daisy A. (Richardson) Palmer.   Jerry was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  Jerry valued family and friendships and was a true friend.   He had a caring, forgiving spirit of gratitude and strong faith.   He was a confidant to any substance abuse group or individual.  

His family and extended family include: His son Jerry Palmer, Jr. and wife and 4 grandchildren in Pennsylvania; his 2 dogs whom he loved dearly, 2 brothers, D.J. Palmer (Betty) of Arkansas City and Terry Palmer (Marsha) of California and one sister, Becky Main (Kevin) of Idaho and 17 nephews, nieces and cousins well as a host of AA friends, Josh, Angel, Mary and Rod that became family to him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Daisy Palmer, 4 sisters and 1 brother.   

Cremation has taken place and no services will take place according to Jerry’s wishes.  A special thanks to Kindred Hospice nurses, Ashley and Vanessa and Dr. Bryan Davis for your care.  Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City, KS was entrusted with the arrangements.
