JoAnn (Keller) Zeman

JoAnn Zeman, 86, of Thornton, CO passed away peacefully Monday, July 5, 2021 at her home with her children and grandchildren surrounding her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City, burial will follow at Parker Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Parker Community Center following the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to “Bikes Together” in memory of Rod and Joann Zeman. Contributions may be left in the care of the funeral home.

JoAnn was born in Medford, OK to parents Homer and Ethelyne (Hall) Keller. She graduated from Medford High School in 1952, in August of that year she married Melvin Zeman. The couple moved to Arkansas City and JoAnn raised their 3 children and was a homemaker, she eventually started working for Gordon and Piatt as an executive secretary. In 1987 JoAnn moved to California where she worked for an oil services company. After retiring she moved to Thornton, CO to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, flowers, and playing bridge weekly with her girlfriends.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Knowles of Arkansas City, KS; her son, Lon Zeman of Ketchum, ID; her 4 grandchildren, Joseph Zeman, Bryan Knowles, Leland Knowles and Lisa Knowles and one great-grandchild, Audrey Knowles, and her sister Jill Thomas of California.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, son Rod Zeman, and siblings, Jack Keller, Bob Keller, Betty Kretchmar and Patsy Headrick.
