Kathryn Ann (Bailey) Rowley

Kathryn Ann Rowley, 79, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Winfield Senior Living Community.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Hackney Community Baptist Church, burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial Contributions for Kathy may be made to the Winfield Senior Living Community Memory Care Unit, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Kathy was born September 9, 1943 in Ashland, OK to parents Basil and Berniece (McInturf) Bailey. Kathy was raised in Ashland and attended schools there.  She met the love of her life, Gordon Rowley, in Kiowa, OK and they were married February 27, 1960 in Ashland, OK. They started raising their three children at a young age and had fun learning and growing up alongside them. When her children were older, Kathy began working at Anadarko Oil Production in Liberal, KS. After Kathy and Gordon retired, they moved to Winfield, KS in 2005 to be closer to their daughter.

Kathy was a very active person, she enjoyed being outdoors, reading, watching and playing any kind of sport, she especially loved being involved in her kids’ sporting events, and she was an avid OU fan. Kathy was a member of the Hackney Community Baptist Church, and she genuinely loved people and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children Randy Rowley and wife Martha, Carol Coon, and Charles Rowley and wife Kim; grandchildren: Zac, Amancha, Lila, and Sadie; great-granddaughter Nova; brother Dean Bailey, sister-in-law Gail Davis and husband Roger; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Kevin Coon, and siblings Don Bailey, Sharon Cole, and Richard Bailey.
