Kay Lamarr Phenicie, 72, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Kay will be laid to rest at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, private services will be held Arrangements are in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Kay was born October 27, 1948 in Hillsdale, MI. He attended Reading, MI High School, in 1968 he was drafted into the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War as a minor surgery tech. In 1972 he started his career as an LPN and worked at multiple hospitals all over the country until 1981. Kay worked in nursing homes until 1996 when he decided to make a move into working other odd jobs; he worked as a welder and did manual labor, trying out whatever he enjoyed. He retired in 2010. Kay enjoyed reading, walking and going for runs, and listening to pop and country music. Kay was known to be very particular, but was also kind-hearted and willing to help anyone in need, even to his detriment.
He is survived by his brother Lee Wade Phenicie of Perry, MI, sister Arla Jean Phenicie of New York City, NY, and brother Ray Lauren Phenicie of Detroit, MI.
