Kay Anna Potterton Obituary

 Kay Anna Potterton, 84, of Arkansas City, passed away at her home on August 2, 2025.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Graveside services will follow at the Parker Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.


Kay was born on December 2, 1940, in McPherson, KS to parents John and Alberta (Chase) Brookshire. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1958. On April 9, 1976, she was united in marriage to Clarence E. “Woody” Potterton. Kay worked at Cessna at Strother Field for over 20 years riveting airplane wings. Kay enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, and driving through the mountains in Colorado, especially Estes Park, and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.


Kay is survived by her children, Steve Obenshain (Carrie), Nathan Obenshain (Marica), and Angela Clayton, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
