Kent Ray Rowland, 62, of Winfield, KS passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

Kent was born June 7, 1960 to parents Ken and Esther (Gibson) Rowland. He was born in Salina, KS and graduated from high school in McPherson, KS. Kent was a proud Kansan and lived in the state his whole life. Kent joined the Navy in 1981 and was honorably discharged in 1985, was stationed on the USS John F. Kennedy CV 67 and was a boilerman technician on the ship. Kent enjoyed being on the water and liked to go fishing, he was a handyman and a jack of all trades.

Survivors include his brother Donald Rowland, niece Shaena Tuohy, her husband Wilkes and their daughter Tenley, step-siblings Susan (Neil) Arnold of Winfield, Gina (Craig) Ramsey of Scott City, and Shane (Cindy) Geist of Scott City. Kent is preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Phyllis Rowland.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Winfield Veterans’ Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winfield Veterans’ Home, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
