LaDonna Katherine Miller, 82, of Winfield, KS passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Rosary prayer services and funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 8, 2024 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Private interment will take place at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery. Memorial contributions for LaDonna may be made to the Holy Name Catholic Church, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
LaDonna was born October 22, 1941 in Wellington, KS the daughter of LeRoy and Paulene (Morrow) Wheeler. She graduated from high school in Odessa, TX and later worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Binney and Smith, as well as Coon Construction and Joe’s Carpet. LaDonna was united in marriage to Earl H. Miller on August 23, 1974 in Winfield, KS. LaDonna was very artistic, she taught Tole painting classes and enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren, she also enjoyed doing yardwork and tending to her flower garden, as well as baking pies and cookies. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society, she also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for the last 30 years.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Earl Miller, daughter Kathy Kiene (Thomas), son Bobby Miller, previous son-in-law Russell Johnson, grandchildren Leah Johns, Randy Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Benjamin Miller (Megan), Rene May (Austin), great-grandchildren Easton Johnson, Chloe Lankford, Aubree Johnson, Collin Johnson, Bentley Johnson, Kayson May, Dawson Miller, and Saylor Miller, and siblings Janice DeCovic, Eileene Carey (Phil), Christine Darnell (Gary), Patricia Goldsberry, and Mary Louise Welch. As well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
LaDonna is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Marjorie Wheeler, sister Margaret Dowers, brothers-in-law Larry DeCovic, Keith Goldsberry, Robert Welch, and Bob Dowers.
