Larry W. Sattler

Larry Sattler, 86, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, September 25, 2023 at his home. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Akron Cemetery.  A viewing will be held at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield from 4-6 PM Friday, September 29, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude, as Larry was an avid contributor to the organization, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Larry William Sattler was born May 7, 1937 to William and Mary (Koeneman) Sattler near Newton, KS and shortly moved to a farm in rural Udall.  Larry graduated from Winfield High School in 1955 and married Patty Catlin in 1959. They made their home on a farm north of Winfield and welcomed three children Crystal, Clay and Mark. Larry was a farmer his entire life.  He also worked as a missile silo guard in the 60’s, a driver for the Winfield Charter Bus Company in the 70’s, and later as a tool & die maker at Beechcraft, and eventually retired from Boeing in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, and watching baseball.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his wife Patty and his sister Sharon. He is survived by his daughter Crystal DeBoard (Al) of Shell Knob, MO, Clay Sattler (Shirley) of Mulvane, KS, and Mark Sattler (Yonny) of Seoul, South Korea, sister Glenys Price of Bennett, CO, as well as eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
