Laurie May (Thomas) Adams

Laurie May Adams, 60, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2023 at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Laurie was born April 1, 1963 in Winfield, KS the daughter of David and Ruth (Bailey) Thomas. Laurie graduated from Winfield High School and was united in marriage to Glen Adams on April 6, 1981. She lived in Winfield for 18 years, Kaw, OK for 10 years, and resided in Arkansas City for the remainder of her life. She worked at William Newton Hospital in housekeeping. Laurie loved animals, especially her dog Susie, and had a soft spot for strays, which she often fed and took home. Most of all, she loved her family.

Survivors include her husband Glen Adams, son James Adams, daughter April Adams, grandchildren: Febain Adams, Damian Adams, Leanna Adams, Marissa Orosco, and Zayden Adams, great-grandchild Emery Adams, mother Ruth Thomas, sister Mary Sutton, brother Harold Thomas, niece Candise Sallee, and great-nieces Keylee and Payzlee Sallee. Laurie is preceded in death by her father David Thomas.
