Lenora Beth Nation, 97, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully at home Sunday, December 22, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2024, with visitation from 9-10 AM, at First United Methodist Church in Winfield; graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund; donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
Lenora was born December 1, 1927, in Elgin, KS to parents James and Ethel (Lemon) Loftin. She graduated from Peru, KS high school and later attended Pittsburg State Teachers College. She taught school for two years in Chautauqua County and two years in Sterling, KS. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles Nation on May 29, 1949. Lenora taught Sunday school for over 25 years and was a certified lab leader in the church for many years. Has been a member or chair of the administrative committee in the church as well as the education area. She was a den mother for ten years and has been to all fifty states. Lenora enjoyed baseball, cross-stitching, crocheting, quilting, and needlepoint.
Lenora is survived by her sons Alan Charles Nation (Judy), Paul Warren Nation (Debbie), and Gary Reed Nation (Susie); grandchildren Cory, Antony, Michael, Dominic, Trevor, Andrew and Taylor and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, and grandson Toby Alan Nation and siblings Patsy Zammiello and Orgene Loftin.
