Lois J. Vasey died February 6, 2021 at Cumbernauld Village. Lois has lived in Winfield since 2006. She and her husband Clyde returned to a place close to where they met. As students at SC working in the cafeteria they became friends but by accident went to a movie together and the rest is history.
Lois was born in Pawnee County as the youngest of eight children of John and Ruth Dryden on 2-24-1926. She lived on the farm until her Junior Year when she and her parents moved into Larned. The family lived three years in Kingman then moved to the Chicago area. It was here she returned to her love of teaching. Her career was recognized by the Park Forest School District and Southwestern College as a Master Teacher representing the profession well.
After retirement Lois became a full time volunteer in many ways including music, hospital and a small college in Sitka AK. In 2000 she was a care giver for her son, Charles.
Lois enjoyed rural life in Arkansas for 18 years then returned to Winfield. She was presided in death by her parents, seven siblings and a son. Lois was a soft spoken but joyful lady. There are many stories of her love for family, music, teaching and a warm relationship with God.
