Obituary

Marilyn Faye Gillett, 76, of Oxford, KS passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.

Marilyn was born October 14, 1945 in Fallon, NV to parents Paul and Margaret (Stoffel) Downes. She graduated from high school in Huntington Beach, CA and attended college in Denver, CO. She was married to Earl Wayne Gillett, the couple later divorced. Marilyn worked as a clerk at King Soopers for several years, she retired in 1995. She enjoyed genealogy and watching movies, and she loved animals.

Survivors include her children: Jonathan Andrew Gillett and wife Carol, Michelle Lynn Gillett, and Michael Paul Gillett. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents.

According to Marilyn’s wishes, cremation will take place, no services are scheduled. Donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to the Wellington Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
