Marion Francis Simmons

Marion F. Simmons, 82, of Winfield, KS passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital.

Marion was born March 12, 1942 in Wichita, KS to parents Leonard and Neva (Hall) Simmons. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Patricia Fry on January 9, 1985 in Miami, OK. Marion worked in construction and operated Simmons Concrete from 1980 to 2003. He enjoyed raising Brahman cattle, hunting, and cruising to destinations all over the world.

Survivors include his wife Pat, children Troy Simmons (Morea), Kristin Steen (Greg), Laurie Looper (Mike), Steven Hinds, and Kevin Hinds, grandchildren Jake, Colby, Andrea, Christian, Joe, Ryan, Alex, Jeremy, Morgan, Brett, and Kimberly and 8 great-grandchildren. Marion is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Gary and Max Simmons.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, contributions may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
