Mary Louise Jones

Mary Louise Jones, 76, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Alderbrook Village.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 4, 2024 at Parker Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M. Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.

Mary was born on December 7, 1947, in Jerseyville, IL to parents Clement and Emma Suttles. She graduated from high school in Jerseyville. In June 1977 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Larry Jones. Mary worked for many years as a CNA in nursing homes before becoming the Ark City Taco Tico manager for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed collecting Elvis, John Wayne, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and many other items. She enjoyed keeping a clean home and spending time with her family.  

Mary is survived by her children Patrick Suttles, George Bodkins (Ronda), Hubert “Boe” Bodkins, Darin Bodkins (Kami), Larry Jones Jr. (Serena), and Donald “Corky” Jones (Anita), siblings Elizabeth Poindexter, Robert Suttles, Willaim Suttles, Kathy Turpin, and Jeff Suttles, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Larry Suttles.
