Mary Lois Milner, born on September 30, 1951, in Granite City, IL, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital. She was the cherished daughter of Thomas and Elta Oletta Peppers.
Mary dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a caregiver and receptionist at Hillside Medical Clinic. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many. Mary was a devoted mother whose six grandchildren brought immeasurable joy into her world. Her kindness and love extended beyond her immediate family, making her a beloved figure among friends and acquaintances.
A proud member of New Hope Fellowship Church in Winfield, Mary found solace and strength in her faith. Her love for life was evident in her passions, including traveling, going for walks, dancing, and listening to music, with a special fondness for Tina Turner.
However, Mary's greatest love was undoubtedly reserved for spending quality time with her family and friends. Her laughter, love, and unwavering support created a tapestry of beautiful memories that will forever be cherished.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Brad (Melissa) Milner of Valrico, FL, and Lisa (Michael) Phillips of Winfield, KS. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Ryan, Austin, Jessica, Dylan, Zachary, and Tiffany, as well as great-grandchildren Blakely and Harley. Mary is also survived by her siblings, Larry Peppers of Salina, KS, Vonnie Peppers of Red Oak, TX, and brother-in-law Brian Byers and sister-in-law Dorothy Simpson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Byers, and companion Carl "Roy" Harris.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to an organization of your choice, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Mary Lois Milner's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in our memories. May she rest in eternal peace.
