Mary Ruth (Zink) Katcher

Mary Ruth Katcher, 66, of Newkirk, OK, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her home.  

Mary was born on January 20, 1954 in Fairfax, Oklahoma the daughter of Cecil “Cy” and Wanetta (Guffy) Zink. She attended school in Shilder, Oklahoma.   On August 30, 1996, she was united in marriage to Daniel Katcher and the couple made their home the last 30 years in Newkirk, OK.   Mary worked for ARC Group Homes where she was an excellent caregiver.   She was member of the Church of God in Webb City, OK.   Mary was full of spunk and a zest for life.  She loved her family and cooking family dinners.   She loved spending time at the lake, where she enjoyed camping, fishing and her grandkids.   She loved scary movies and Halloween especially.   Mary also had a special love for all her 8 dogs and 3 cats.   She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.  

Her family includes: her husband Daniel of the home; her children; Brian and Amanda Brown of Newkirk, OK; Chris Jones of Ponca City, OK; Cody and Shawnda Jones of Arkansas City; Megan Katcher of Arkansas City and Tyson and Jenn Katcher of Kansas City, KS; her sister, Becky Zink of Bartlesville, OK; her 16 grandchildren, Blake, Brian, Josie, Anniston, Bristol,  Sydnie, Jameson, McKenzie, Hunter, Brett, Jagger, Gage, Mayson, Breanna, Carleona and Ava and her 3 great-grandchildren, Brayton, Rhett and River.  She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Tommy and brother, Eddie Zink.  

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Shelley Family Funeral Home.  Cremation will take place following those services.  Please follow social distancing guidelines.  Memorials have been established with It’s My Heart New England and Down’s Syndrome Society of Wichita.
