Michael Curley

Michael George Paul Curley, 65, of Burden, KS passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield to defray funeral expenses.

Michael was born on October 2, 1958 in Van Nuys, CA to parents Bernard and Dorthea (Griffin) Curley. Michael was united in marriage to Diane Kernes in 1999, the couple later divorced. Michael worked for Ventura Road Construction as a plant manager for many years before being medically retired. Michael enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, taking his dog to the park, and attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness Church in Winfield, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his children, Nicole Vreeken, Ashlee Kernes, and Drew Bacon, grandchildren, Donivyn, N’Aliecia, Nova, Jordan, Meko, Ace, Logan, Jessi, Alli, Chance, and Peyton, and sisters Ellen and Barbara. He is preceded in death by his parents.
