Miguel Cacho Barragan, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Ascension Living Via Christi Village in Ponca City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Burial will follow at the Newkirk Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-3 P.M. Sunday, February 2, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions for Miguel may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Miguel was born February 17, 1956 in Santa Ines, Mexico to parents Benjamin and Carmen (Ruiz) Barragan. He was united in marriage to Lillian Jones on October 31, 1980. Miguel worked installing insulation and sheet metal for DPI Construction. He was very skilled at crafting almost anything he put his mind to. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his children William Baugus, James Baugus, Carmen Barragan, Rosa Sisco, Lupe Barragan and Jose Barragan, sisters Rosa, Lupe, Mariellena Barragan and several grandchildren. Miguel is preceded in death by his parents, wife, an infant daughter and infant brother Jose Barragan.
