Mona Joan Sanford, 84, of Winfield, KS passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Winfield Rest Haven.

Mona was born on September 26, 1938 in Dearborn, MI to parents James and Arlean (Smith) Wesley. She graduated from high school in Oxnard, CA, where she met her future husband Sandy Sanford. The couple had a marine wedding on July 22, 1957 in Oxnard, CA. Mona worked as a switchboard operator for Intrust Bank, formerly KSB & Trust, for many years, she retired in 1998. Mona loved being a homemaker and caring for her family, she also enjoyed knitting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include her children Sandra Wells and husband Jerry, and Wesley Sanford; granddaughter Robin Wood, and sister Barbara DeCoster. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Cremation will take place, no services are scheduled at this time. Donations in memory of Mona may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield, to defray funeral expenses.
