Norma “Nanny” Jean Melton, 83, of Wichita passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18th, 2019 at the Kansas Masonic Home. Norma Melton was born on Sunday, July 12th, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas to Betty May (Elmore) and Devon Lambert. Norma was a beloved and cherished mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend, and retired caregiver. Norma spent her early years in Wichita and relocated to South Carolina where she married and had 3 daughters. She had a career as a professional caregiver for families with children for 16 years and later retired. Norma lived her life in servitude to the Lord for over 50 years and devoted much of her time to her relationship with the Lord and studying His word. Norma also enjoyed interior decorating, shopping, and spending time with her family. She is proceeded in death by her mother, Betty May Elmore and father, Devon Lambert. Survivors include her brothers, Bob (Gwen) Hinckley, Eugene (Sharon) Burton, Jack Fox, Scott Lambert, and Monty Lambert; her daughters Brenda Osterhout, Kathy Padilla, and Christina Zapata; grandchildren Elisha Danberger, Heather Christner, Jessica Padilla, Zachary Padilla, Isaac (Jeanie) Padilla, Sarah (Christopher) Brooks, Abigail Hagan, Emily Hagan, Tara (Nathan) Morgan-Occhipinti, great-grandchildren Dakota Darmento, Andrew (Maria) Horochovic, Marley Shank, Alexander McGuire, Ethan McGuire, Noah Conger, Romeo Padilla, Kairi Padilla, Rylee Horochovic, and a great-great grandchild; Luna Horochovic.
