Patricia Louise (McGuire) Gardner

Patricia Louise (McGuire) Gardner, 85, formerly of Arkansas City, KS passed away at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, May 17, 2021.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 24 at the Chestnut Ave. Venue in Arkansas City, attendees are invited to dress casually. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Life Services, donations may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Cards of condolence may be sent to 1606 Timberline, Rose Hill, KS 67133.

Pat was born in El Dorado, KS March 4, 1936 the daughter of John and Beulah (Sammons). She met her husband Jim, and after courting just six weeks, they were married 54 years. Pat enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, painting, and tending her flower and vegetable gardens.  She and Jim owned and managed a buffalo ranch for over 20 years. Pat’s faith was very important to her, and many lives have been changed because of her faithfulness to God. Friends and family all agree no one ever left her presence without being lifted up and encouraged.

She is survived by her children: Beverly and husband Russell Sanborn of Burleson, TX, Teressa and husband, Jan Hatfield of Derby, and John Gardner and wife Shelley of Rose Hill; 6 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 13 great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Kay Griggs. Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jim Gardner, her parents, and brother Jerry McGuire.
