Peggy Joyce (Ditmore) Matney

Peggy Joyce Matney, 75, of Winfield, KS passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Cumbernauld Village.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Peggy was born on July 20, 1947 in Anadarko, OK to parents Charles and Jacqueline (Vanwinkle) Ditmore. She graduated from Ark City High School in 1965. In 1964 she married Corwin “Corkie” Miller, the couple later divorced. In 1981 she married the love of her life, Everett Matney. Peggy worked at Binney and Smith for 19 years on the assembly line and enjoyed attending the reunions they would have. Peggy enjoyed going to garage sales, collecting dolls, and reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her sons Les Miller (Stephanie), and Charlie Miller (Janice), and grandchildren Taryn, Braden, Evan, and Addyson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Myrna Laughlin.
