Phyllis Elaine Rush, 97, of Oxford, KS passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Oxford Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oxford, donations may be left in the care of the Oxford Funeral Service.
Phyllis was born on March 10, 1926 in Oxford, KS to parents Melvin and Murriel (Nice) Spence. She attended Oxford High School and on August 3, 1946 was united in marriage to the love of her life, Howard Rush.
Phyllis was a homemaker, and caretaker of the family farm, but she also worked at the Kansas State Hospital, Riverview Manor, and the Oxford High School kitchen. She enjoyed cross-stitching, playing bridge, reading westerns, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford, and was an avid KU Jayhawks and KC Chiefs fan.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Pam Lacey, Linda Hauser, and Rod Rush (Cindy), siblings Marsha Delp of Oxford and Donnie Spence of Wichita, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and several siblings.
