Rex Lee Flottman, 66, of Winfield, KS, passed away on October 10, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center with his wife by his side.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Highland Cemetery in Winfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the Cowley County Humane Society. Donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
Rex was born on February 4, 1959, in Winfield, KS to parents Robert and Christine (Waldorf) Flottman. He graduated from Enid, OK, high school in 1977 and began his career in photography at Marquise Studios, where he took class photos in New Mexico. On December 22, 1984, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandy Pruitt, in Enid. In 1986, they moved to Winfield, where he started taking pictures for the Walnut Valley Festival Association. He worked there as a media director and booked entertainers until the time of his passing. Rex enjoyed photography, especially black and white photos, playing and collecting guitars, and playing in the Walnut River String Band. Rex also enjoyed hockey and was the photographer for the Wichita Thunder for many years.
Rex is survived by his wife, Sandy, and daughters Sheridon Flottman and Sierra Flottman.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
