Richard "Dick" J. Falkenberg

Richard “Dick” J. Falkenberg, 87, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, KS.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Dick was born on October 27, 1937, in Caldwell, KS, to parents Richard and Francis (Butler) Falkenberg. He attended Caldwell School’s and later joined the Navy. Dick was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Jane Banister for 64 years. Dick retired as the Ark City Clinic custodian. Dick was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved to fish, coon hunt and chicken fight.

Dick is survived by his children Richard Falkenberg (Debbie), Carla Parks (Mike), and Cheryl Tharp (John Klick); 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and brother Don Falkenberg. He is preceded in death by his wife, son Kelley “Chub” Falkenberg, and 3 brothers.
