Robert James Allen

Robert James Allen, 81, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his children.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Robert was born on April 20, 1942 to parents Paul and Madelyn (Pratt) Allen in Arkansas City. He graduated from Gueda Springs High School and started his career as a pipefitter, working at refineries and nuclear plants. On March 3, 1973 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandra Dowty, the couple made their home in Ark City. Robert enjoyed swimming and staying active and healthy, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife and children.

He is survived by his children, Deborah Staton, Randy Foster, Larry Foster, and Kieth Foster (Denise), grandchildren Rachael (Kliff), Kelsey, Sara, Matthew, Jaimee, Kelsey and Colby, great-grandchildren Amay, Kooper, Layton and Bodie, and sisters Sandy Musson and Connie Beck.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Teresa Blendon and brother Dwayne Allen.
