Obituary

Robert (Bob) L. Barta passed away September 13, 2022 peacefully in his sleep at home, after many years of health concerns.

Bob worked for the State of Kansas prison system for many years, which brought him to Winfield. In his younger years, he served in the US Navy. He loved his wife’s family and spending time with them at gatherings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and father-in-law. Survivors include his wife, Debra, daughter Sara (Todd), son Dustin, grandchildren: Alexander, Christian, Colin, and Tysen; and extended family members: Marian, Ashley, Kirsten, Jaden, Jenae, Daniel, and Don.

Private family services will be held in Nebraska at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society and Alcoholics Anonymous of Winfield. Arrangements are in the care of the Shelley Funeral Home.
