Ronald “Ronnie” Gene Farris, 79, of Geuda Springs, KS, passed away on November 4, 2020 at his home.
Ronnie was born on October 13, 1941 at home in Oxford, KS, the son of Marvin Dale and Reva (Hunter) Farris. He attended school in California. In 1982, he was united in marriage to Nancy Ledford in Miami, OK. The couple made their home in Geuda Springs, KS. He was a self-employed roofer and also drove an armored truck for PSI. He loved horses, guns, fishing, woodburning and woodworking, drawing and his special fur babies, Buster, Gypsy and Daisy. He was a member of the World and Kansas Fast Draw Associations.
His family includes his wife Nancy of the home; his children; Ronnie Dale Farris of Newkirk, OK, Monte Gene Farris of Bowling Green, OH, Tammy Kae McDonald of Council Grove, KS, Shelia Ann Hills of Geuda Springs, KS, Michael Lee Hills of Ashton, KS and Wade Christopher Moore of Arkansas City, KS; his brother, Dale Farris of Oxford, KS and his 23 grandchildren and a plethora of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carrie Darlene Jones, brother, George Farris and sister, Anita Tidwell.
Cremation will take place and the family will have a gathering to celebrate his life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the Geuda Springs Community Building. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association. Contributions may be made left with Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
