Rose Rita Clayton, 78, of Arkansas City, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 9th, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, August 20th, 2022, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Arkansas City, KS. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. No visitation has been scheduled. A memorial has been established in Rose’s name with the Salvation Army. Contributions may be left in the care of the Shelley family Funeral Home.

Rose Rita Clayton was born on November 11th, 1943, to Melecio Roque and Vera Marie Roque Morris. Rose was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Henry Clayton on November 11, 2001, in Paola, KS. Rose enjoyed playing bingo, and singing, she was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Frances (Kenny) Harper; and grandchildren Jonathan (Dani) Vaughan, Sheri (Justin) Fortenberry, and Heaven Vaughan; great-grandchildren Emma, Abby, Holden, and Emilia Fortenberry, brother, Mickey Roque, and sister Roxanna Burns.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Tammy Hollins. Other Children include her sons, Ernest Hollins and Douglass Avery Baker.
