Russell Don Pate, 64, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made out to 1st Southern Baptist Church and left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Ark City.
Russell was born in Arkansas City to parents Donald Pate & Carol (Matthews) Preedin. Russell worked as a CNA in nursing homes, a metal fabrication plant for elevators, and in the mechanics industry, and was a semi-truck driver across the USA. He loved and enjoyed race cars, IT projects, and was always caring and helping others.
Russ is the father of Brice Harader Pate and Brandon Pate. He is survived by his mother, Carol Preedin, sisters, Crystal Metzinger and husband Billy, Susanna Estrada-Pate, brother, Matthew Preedin, son, Brandon Pate and wife Brooke, and daughter Brice Pate. Angela Harader, Debra & John Marvin, Derik & Monique Fox, numerous uncles and aunts, and nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in passing by his father, Donald Pate, stepfather, Thomas Preedin, grandparents, Ralph & Hazel Matthews, and Rex & Emiline Pate, nephew, Andrew Estrada. Robert Preedin, Laura Jennings, Margaret Fox, Janet Matthews-Fox, Robert Pate, Steve Pate.
