Sherilynn Etoyle Baxter, 82, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Sherry was born August 2, 1939 at the Arkansas City hospital to parents Myron Oscar Webb and Willma Etoyle (Williams) Webb. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1957 and married the love of her life, David Baxter that same year at Central Christian Church of Arkansas City. She worked as a florist at her and David’s business, McCool’s Flower Shop from 1957 to 2016. Sherry was very musically talented and loved singing in many capacities, she was a member of the Twilight Singers Group, and the Ark City Music and Drama Club, she sang at Central Christian in Arkansas City, and she enjoyed doing shows at the community theatre, where she proudly played Glenda the Good Witch in the Wizard of Ozz. She loved to sing and perform so she could make people smile. Sherry also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles, and was an active member of the Soroptimists, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Central Christian Church of Arkansas City. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband David Baxter of Arkansas City, daughters Lori (Greg) Sims of Newkirk, OK and Juli (Stanley Dennis) Calabrese of Wichita, KS, and grandchildren Tiffani (Evan) York and Jared Sims. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister Margaret Webb.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City to defray funeral expenses.
