Shirley Anne (Quick) Austin

Shirley Anne (Quick) Austin, 74, of Wichita, KS, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

Shirley was born on June 25, 1946 in Dexter, Kansas, the daughter of Gale Benjamin and Hazel (Graham) Quick.   She attended Arkansas City High School and then graduated from Dexter High School.  She owned a liquor store in Arkansas City for many years and also worked for many years as a pharmacy technician.  Shirley loved to talk to people and never met a stranger.  She also enjoyed sporting events like Wichita State Basketball and Kansas City Chiefs Football. 

Her family includes her children: Shannon Austin, Steve and wife Becky Austin and James and wife Stephanie Austin; her siblings, Gale Rider, Darrell Quick, Brenda Quick, Bruce Babbit; her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jim Quick and one sister, Janet Babbit.  

Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Maple City, KS Cemetery.  A visitation with family and friends will be held at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City that morning from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon.  Please follow social distancing guidelines at funeral home and the graveside.
