Simon T. Miers Obituary

 Simon Terry Miers, 55, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home.

 

Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 6th 2025, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorials in Simon's name may be made to the Narcotics Anonymous and left in the care of the Funeral Home.  

 

Simon was born in Tulsa, OK, on August 10, 1970, to parents Terry Miers and Kitty Jordan Hiatt. He attended Arkansas City High School, graduating in 1988, and took college classes at  Cowley County Community College then at KU. For a number of years, he was a sous chef and loved catering and creating for others. Recently, he was employed at Columbia Elevators at Strother Field. Simon was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield and NA in Ark City; he was proud of his recovery journey and sponsored many people. He enjoyed reading books to learn new skills as well as fiction novels. Simon was very handy; he was always working on restoring an old car and enjoyed completing small construction projects.

 

Simon is survived by his parents, daughter Kaya Blythe Miers-Brown, son-in-law Charlie Brown, granddaughter Amara Miers, ex-partner Tammy Dickey, and siblings Dylan Miers, Glen Hankins, and Sarah Hankins Brown.

 

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Isobel Simone Miers.
