Steven A. Johnston, 63, of Oxford, KS passed away peacefully November 13, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions for Steven may be made to the Dunamis Church, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Steven was born on July 12, 1961 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Erma (Johnston) Berrie, and Eddy A. Johnston. James A. Berrie (Bert) became his stepfather in 1983. His family moved to Oxford, KS where Steve graduated from high school. Steve worked in the healthcare field most of his life and retired early to help care for his parents. He enjoyed collecting things, including stamps, coins, and anything he thought was unusual, he also enjoyed being in nature and picking walnuts. Steven was a devout Christian and prayer warrior, and he loved worshiping.
He is survived by his sisters Linda L. Johnston of Lawrence, KS, and Sheryl Gleason of Leavenworth, KS, niece Alyssa Black (Ian) and nephew Derek Gleason both of Lawrence, great-nephew Bradly Quinlan, and great-great nephew Easton, as well as many friends and extended family members. Steven is preceded in death by his parents.
