Steven Mark Mitchell

Steven Mark Mitchell, 59, of Winfield passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Cremation will take place. A memorial service with military honors will be scheduled for the spring. Memorial contributions for Steven may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Steven was born November 16, 1962 in Covington, KY the son of Thomas and Martha (Ross) Mitchell. He attended junior high school in Los Angeles County and graduated from high school in Pamona, CA. He was united in marriage to Lisa Keesey on December 9, 1999 in Knob Noster, MO. Steven worked in construction, for Gilbert Central, Utility Contractors, Cessna and KanPak. He loved cooking, gardening, fishing, hunting and drawing. He was also a member of the Winfield VFW.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Mitchell of Winfield, daughter Whitney Mitchell of Whitter, CA, stepsons Johnathon and Christopher Lockyear of Winfield, grandchildren Dakota, Autumn, and Brooklynne, of all of Whittier, CA, and Marc and Kirsten Lockyear of Winfield; sisters: Kim Matthews of Newman Lake, WA, Shawn Janis of Umatilla, FL, Tammy McMullen of Lady Lake, FL; step-mother Patricia Dolan of Los Angeles, CA; step-sisters Debbie Williams and Tracie Chanchola Mehta, both of Los Angeles, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Steven is preceded in death by his parents.
