Steven Myers, 71, of Cedar Vale, KS passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, KS.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
Steve was born on January 13, 1953 in Wichita, KS to parents Lee and Shirley (Cline) Myers. He graduated from South High School. He worked in the Wichita school system and his experiences led him to obtain his master's certification in HVAC, he could fix anything and everything. Steve was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #441.
Steve loved to go out dancing and boy could he dance! He loved animals, enjoyed the outdoors, especially the mountains, going hunting, fishing, and camping. He was always on board for a road trip, one of his favorite destinations was Colorado. His favorite memories were made at the family cabin and family dinners, Steve was always there for his family.
Steve leaves behind his sister, Kathy Myers, daughter Virginia “Gini” Myers, grandsons Michael Vars, Jason Vars, and Owen Vars, his great-grandson, Leighlyn Vars, was born three days before his passing. His niece Troya Stone and family, nephews Chris Myers and family, and T.J. Myers were a joy to him. Steve loved his family and will be missed greatly.
