Urna Mildred O’Neil, 77, of Winfield passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winfield First United Methodist Church - Nursery Fund, contributions may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
Urna was born on May 29, 1942 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, the daughter of Carl and Mildred (Whittaker) O’Neil. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1961. Urna worked in the laundry department of William Newton Hospital for over 30 years, she also babysat, worked as a car hop at Snow White and at the hospital snack bar. Urna was a faithful life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, she loved taking care of babies and served in the nursery for 40 years. She enjoyed traveling and taking bus trips, most important in Urna’s life was her family, she loved to dote on her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her sister Jean Sauzek and husband Larry, brother Dr. Stanton O’Neil, and sister Myrna Neaderhiser. Nieces and nephews: Dr. Todd O’Neil and wife Lynn, Kirsten O’Neil, David Odel and wife Kim, Scott Neaderhiser and wife Lisa, Neil Neaderhiser and wife Christine, Hilary Catlin and husband Jim, and Stephanie Berns and husband Joe, as well as 14 great-nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
