Virgil D. Scheuerman, 96, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Cumbernauld Village.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery in Winfield. Memorial contributions for Virgil may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
Virgil was born June 28, 1926 in Bison, KS the son of John and Amelia (Holstein) Scheuerman. Virgil left high school after his junior year to work on the family farm full time, he joined the Army in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1947. Virgil worked for Northern Natural Gas, which later became Enron, as a shift supervisor until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, especially wintering in Arizona, mobile homes, and keeping all of his belongings in pristine condition. He moved to Cumbernauld Village in 2016.
Virgil is survived by his sons John Wilson and Mike Wilson, twelve nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Florence Irene (Edgington) Scheuerman, son Rick Wilson, parents, siblings, and a nephew.
